Moving expenses can be claimed on your tax return only if they are job-related (that is, you are forced to relocate for a job, not moving so that you can find a new job) and the distance of the move is more than 50 miles. Be sure that you keep all of the receipts and papers that you can, and document things like mileage, rental vehicle costs, and also anything that you donate to charities or Goodwill organizations when you move.
