What is the first step in finding an apartment?

Tenant FAQ » About Member Services

The first thing to do is to log into the Members area using the username and password that was established during the setup process. When you are logged in you can begin searching by clicking on 'Start Your Search Here.' Click on the name of the area that you want to search in, and either select individual neighborhoods, or choose Select All, if you are not sure or do not have a preference. It's best to do a very general search first, and then start adding additional criteria, such as price range, once you get a feel for the kind of units that are available in the area.

Take note of the phone numbers of any that catch your eye, and once you have five or six results, go drive out to see them for yourself. Nothing can take the place of actually being able to physically go see the apartment before you rent it.

Once you have a few in mind, call the landlords and set up appointments to have them show you around the apartment and, optionally, fill out an application.

If you take the time to meet with a few landlords and show enough interest, you can be moved in to your new home in as little as 2 weeks!
